If you venture across to coastal Bay Of Plenty, be sure to call in to this great Maunganui Road cafe.
Established as two separate but complementary businesses, the co-located Eddies & Elspeth join forces to produce a worthy result.
Eddies brunch parlour, proudly family-owned, offers a full cafe service with an innovative menu made with the best ingredients.
Elspeth artisan bakery specialises in - surprise surprise - delicious baked goods and coffee. Small batch, artisanal breads, pastries and cakes, "freshly baked for you each day".
We enjoyed a very satisfying meal amongst the locals and visitors who were crammed into the place, which is always a sure sign of quality and reputation.
Their GF/VG/DF options are impressive.
Fit-out wise, while not large, the space was functional and the decor understated yet cool, with timber and tiles, some well-chosen light fittings, as you would expect from a nicely-weighted interior schema.
The aspect that adds the most to the place is the hard working crew, who were heads down and delivering... under some pressure as the images below suggest.
All in all an enjoyable and satisfying experience.
We definitely recommend you visit next time you're in the area.
