DSGNR DOGS
Hi my name is Biddi, as in Bidi-bid, those annoying little seeds that get stuck in your fur when you go a bit off piste. I was born on a Monday in April 2022.
I'm a Schnauzer-Poodle cross.
Being a Schnoodle comes with its challenges and a few searching questions. Like what actually is a designer dog. And what are they supposed to be designing?
Another key question is, when's lunch? But I guess that's not important right now.
What's not to like?
The good news is people generally like us. Schnoodles. Designer dogs. Especially designers as it turns out. I suspect that's no coincidence.
On one hand we’re adorable and on the other hand tough and smart.
I know, right?! It's a little bit exhausting.
NEWCOMER
I'm new in the DSGNR office and I've enjoyed getting to know my colleagues, certainly the ones within reach. I’ve video-called the ones further away and they seem nice too.
There's a lot to learn. I’m still working out what my job is here. No doubt it'll be important.
For the meantime I’m shadowing Teddi the Head Schnoodle. I love her, she’s kind.
They tell me I'll grow into a small dog like my new office buddy.
My Mum is a miniature Schnauzer and Dad is a miniature Poodle. I've seen pictures of them both and they are quite good looking.
Teddi, middle name 'bear' apparently [eye roll], is a mature Schnoodle and about 8.5kgs, which is a convenient puppy-handbag size, as we say in the business.
I expect I will grow to a similar size, maybe a little smaller than her.
Incidentally think my middle name is 'no'... as in "Biddi no!"
That's what they call me. That's cool.
I DID A LITTLE DIGGING.
I had a quick sniff around what they call the interweb (weird name, is that like with spiders and stuff...? I ate a whole spider yesterday) and I dug up a useful article.
It said the Schnauzer part of me is energetic, loyal, and a little feisty. That checks out.
It also said my Poodle part is intelligent - of course - with a reputation for being aristocratic - check - but I can also be an athletic and versatile family dog.
Combine the two and you have a dog like me that is smart, energetic, and loyal.
Not to mention adorable, as we’ve already established.
So that's my story.
I'll keep you posted as I learn more about myself.
And if you need anything designed, whatever that is, I’m here.
PS the park ranger said bidi-bids are called Acaena-novae-zelandiae in the special plant language, and they're native to New Zealand and some other less important places.
